Hello
I'm wondering if you could help me,
My ISP is Falconnet and been with them for a number of years and never an issue I connect through a NetgearDG834 Router and I'm approx 600 Meters from the exchange so I should be getting the full 8meg, the last couple of days I've been recieving slow connection issues, and I've put forward a ticket to falconnet for their interest.
Here are my stats:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7712 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 15 db 3 db
Noise Margin 11 db 26 db
Speedtest:

Any pointers?

Possible your connection has been switched from Fast Path to Interleaved which has effect of slowing it slightly but making it more stable.
Does the DG834 have any more letters after it or a version # on its label?
What exchange?

No, you are still on Fast Path.
You must be suffering from contention at exchange, possibly cuz your ISP has not bought enough capacity from BTw.

So Fast Path needs to be switched off?

No, it's your throughput that's suffering.
Can you try with the router connected to the hidden test socket and post your router stats and speed test?

Hi Just spoken to TitanADSL my ISP
And run the BT Whole sale diagnostics and my IP Profile has collapsed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 2.25 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7.71 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2.5 Mbps
And they will sort this asap.
|
|
|
And the IP profile should recover in time given that the connection speed is good once again.
A bad blip of noise made you connect slowly for a short while and on the old IPStream Max product this incurs a speed penalty of a day to five days.

Could be, up date Titan Phoned today to say BT have reset my profile, should take 24 hours to notice a difference so... fingers crossed!
