New Fibre Install - Line Stats question

I've just a few days ago had my FTTC install completed. My ISP is EE, the approximate line speed on their and BT's website stated a 43MB connection. I haven't seen speeds this high when I've been on speedtest.net. About the highest i've seen is 35 - 38mb. Could someone please take a look at these line stats and see if there's a problem? Or am I just being picky?

I should mention that I didn't get a visit from an Openreach engineeer. I was a self install. However, I bought the Openreach Faceplate and installed that myself onto the master socket. The router I'm using is the EE Brightbox 2 Router. These stats below are on an uptime of about 1hr 30mins.

From these sync speeds you are on the 40/10 FTTC, sold by ISPs as 'Up to 38 Meg'. You need to upgrade to the 'Up to 76 Meg' product to get more but I doubt you'll get much more.

How much are you paying p.m.? With what phone plans?

I'm on the upto 76mb plan, emails from EE stated speeds of 43mb.
£29.40 p/m for 6 months, then £36.40 thereafter. Anytime calls etc. Got offered a deal when i asked to move!

You may think you are on an up to 76 Mbps but the 39998 Sync suggests otherwise - unless it is just a fluke. Services marketed as up to 38Mbps or 40/10 or variants thereof will have a max sync of 39998 or 39999. You also have 3dB of downstream margin left which suggest capping.

If you have or could borrow an unlocked HG612 modem you could see what the max achievable rate is and I would guess it would be above 40Mbps not by much but certainly enough to show you are capped or have been put on a 40/10 service.

My advice might be to prove to them you are capped, accept it, and ask for a further reduction in price - the small amount of extra you will get will not be worth the potential difference in cost

You may be very well paying for the 76 Meg plan but you are being supplied with the 38 Meg plan.

Altho' I wonder! The £36.40 price after 6 months is the 38 Meg Anytime plan price.
