Hi, I am a plusnet user and last night we had a major outage. I usually have a 8meg connection but since this morning it has been as follows;
Download speedachieved during the test was - 0.31 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.05 Mbps-0.5 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :0.58 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.29 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 0.5 Mbps
My router shows this;
Current Rate (Kbps) 288 576
Max Rate (Kbps) 1000 9696
SNR Margin (dB) 26 39
Line Attenuation (dB) 20.5 32
Occupancy (%) 28 5
Errors (Pkts) 0 0
I have spoke to plusnet twice today and they have said they would run a reset on my connection. I contacted them again 6 hours later after no change and they said they would do something else and asked me to restart me router. It came back on again with the same speeds and they said that was all they could do and just keep an eye on it and try tomorrow.
We stream everything so its really quite a bummer and they usually fix any problems very quickly. This one seems different to the previous problems as the sync speed is so low.
Any thoughts?

As people said on the other post - it looks like a banded profile and the ISP should be able to get this reset by a request to BT Wholesale.
If we can spot this as the likely issue, then ISP support should too.

Is it the ISP or the BTw DLM which imposes Banded Profiles?
If the latter, can you explain why I see a preponderance of them with EE (I've seen about 6 in the last 2 weeks on EE's own Forums), yet rarely on other BTw ISPs? This is the 1st I've seen that is not EE.

bt wholesale answer phone as EE support I don't believe that to be true. But your 2nd reason could well explain it.
Would BTw don a mantle of stupidity & ignorance when acting with their EE hat on ?

Would BTw don a mantle of stupidity & ignorance when acting with their EE hat on ? I think you mean why would they remove it.

How long did you turn the router off for?

I think you mean why would they remove it. Pardon? I mean what I said! Please explain or is it meant to be a joke?

Both
BT Wholesale are inherently stupid and ignorant when it comes to how lines behave and how their own DLM works.
Ten days for an FTTC line to settle to its optimum speed, which may be higher than the initial speed? Just like ADSL2+ and even more incorrect!

Have you ever personally spoken with either BTw CS or EE CS? I have with the latter from which I make my opinion. EE BB CS is as stupid and ignorant as EE Mobile CS. It follows that EE BB CS cannot be manned by BTw as BTw don't do Mobile support.
