I run Netgear Genie and it doesn't appear to affect my speeds always around the 37Mbps and 6.6Mbps mark. I recently ran ethernet to my TV, SKYbox and laptop but before when I was on WiFi and it was a different story with results varying from 14-30Mbps download but still 6.6Mbps upload. It was well worth the effort to run the cable. As I say, Netgear Genie doesn't make any difference to me now. I'm not sure about when I was on WiFi perhaps it did then??
