And how, precisely, will determining the DNS configuration help that given that the DNS servers used by both pooters give the same results?

All using BT DNS servers.

Do you mean using the servers automatically assigned by the router, or have you manually assigned them in the network connectoid?

Need to find someone who uses a mac with latest osx, iphone or chromebook with BT broadband to try it.
