Yes, if you unlock it so you can use it with other ISPs.

As far as I am aware, not easily, no.

Yes, certainly not an easy task, I know you can unlock it for Plusnet and some other major ISPs, not sure about PO though...

Is that ADSL or VDSL (FTTC)?
Which PO router do you have?

That was the quickest about face I have seen on these forums William.

The BT Hub 5 doesn't need unlocking to use with Plusnet anyway. It just needs the user to input their Plusnet login details. Plusnet recommend a factory reset beforehand which is simple, but I doubt if it's necessary. Particularly if the user has a complex LAN set up on it. Though even a complex LAN I expect could be recovered by saving the config before resetting then restoring after.
I haven't done exhaustive research, but get the impression it cannot be unlocked or used stand-alone on any other ISP, such as the Post Office. Though I could be wrong. However, if the OP's problem is the WiFi on the PO router, I believe the HH5 can be used as a Wireless Access Point connected to it in the usual way. Example.

So you have an ADSL and PO router model Zyxel-AMG1302-T10A.
I had a PO Zyxel-AMG1302-T10B. The PO broadband was rubish and they let me leave early. The router worked very well with a Plusnet ADSL.
To get the PO BB userid and password, I saved the router's romfile.cfg and then edited it with Notepad++
If you do that, you might then be able to use just the HH5. No harm in trying.
To reply to a post, open it and then look for "reply" on the level with the poster's name and on the right side.

I'm still trying to work out what you mean?

OP: Can I use BT Hub5 with PO Broadband You: Yes, if you unlock it so you can use it with other ISPs. You again: Yes, certainly not an easy task, I know you can unlock it for Plusnet and some other major ISPs, not sure about PO though... Seems pretty simple. You said Yes and then said you didn't know. There is no unlock required for PlusNet as they work straight out of the box.

Right, but what is an "about face"? I've never heard of that expression before!

You have to save the configuration file then edit it.

Literally turning to face the other way. Often used in armed forces where the troops will march in one direction and then turn 180 degrees to march the other way following an "about face" order.
In this context you said "Yes" and then in the following post essentially said "No".

Also, I haven't seen anyone claiming to be able to unlock the HH5.

I found several links previously, two of which I read, on how to use an HH5 on other ISPs, but both those and the wordings of the other trailers were referring to using it as a WAP.
Perhaps you could link to somewhere where it is incontrovertible that an HH5 has been unlocked. A reputable business or techie magazine is the most likely. The seeming absence of any such says enough for me until proved wrong.
Just as Ian is sceptical about the HH6 unlocking, I remain so about the HH5.
