I was hoping to grab some help.
I live in a rural area of Cornwall and manage speeds of 21mbps(megabits) (2.1megabytes) from super fast servers for big downloads. (Zen fibre 1)
Now recently, there has been a lot of work going on with contractors in the lanes around where I live, interestingly they are setting up overhead fibre on all the poles, in fact theres stickers now on the poles saying "Danger Overhead Fibre" so maybe something will come of that. However in the last week, my speed and sync has dropped off, down to 13mbps.
Something just didnt feel right to me, as the last engineer work was that very week on the pole outside my house, so I sort of sat on it and thought id just wait, however i suddenly noticed today that my fritz.box has a message in event viewer https://imgur.com/2AFysc4
"The quality of the signel is being impaired.....branch in line 24 meters long.....impairing transmission rate by 5000kbits" Now I dont know how to diagnose or discern this information, however it seems worth pursuing?
Unfortunately ,Zen seem reluctant to help, because the cut off for "bad service" for my line is 11mbits and currently a sync of 13 is still above that threshold. Despite it being a significant switch from 21
Heres a snapshot of current line information https://imgur.com/gRdBnyR
I dont know what to-do. Maybe these engineers have put in some kind of branch or something that is indeed impairing my line, I have no idea, but if they have it seems Zen are reluctant to help until the line drops below 11, which i can understand to avoid engineer call out charges etc.
As i say....I dont know what to do, feeling very powerless to pursue anything and generally cruddy
*edit* oh heres my spectrumy thing if that helps, i have no idea what it means https://imgur.com/C3j1MAn
*edit* oh further edit, heres a screengrab from August this year https://imgur.com/11pB0cK The max dslam is 40,000, but the curent one is limited to 13,000 what the hell is going on
