Help with these stats sky Adsl.

Line Attenuation (dB) 57.0 35.7
Noise Margin (dB) 11.4 6.2
Poll Interval:

Set Interval Stop

If i have a drop out or anytime i reboot the router these stats now never change regarding down 4140 and up
308. Does it look as though i am sort of capped by their line management tool?
I used to get 4.8mb down and 0.7 up because of a long line.
Around 3 months ago i had a number of drop outs during the day for around 2 weeks, and as coincedence we had the gas utility contractors digging up the roads on our estate mine included and laying new pipes.

Could that have been the reason for my drop outs as the green street cab is nearby. Before i get on to sky do my stats regarding same down/up figures which always stay the same suggest line capping?

11.4db SNR doesnt imply a cap, youd expect maybe 6, 9, or 12db

You'd expect the round figure, but some routers and the maths can result in odd figures showing, and the margin can drift over time.

NOTE: This looks to be ADSL2+ so its not just distance to the green cabinet but the 5 to 6km in total of wiring to the telephone exchange.

Fair point, so maybe seeing the SNR immediately after a resync ?

Thought Sky used a 3db SNR on their ADSL products

Possibly if the DLM is happy with the line. In this case there looks to be reason to believe the Sky DLM is not too happy. There ADSL2+ DLM has always favoured stability over speed.

If original poster can get a VDSL/FTTC (partial fibre) service then upgrading to that is a good idea assuming not 2 miles from green cabinet.

Thanks.
I live very close to street cab, around 80 yards and checks said i can get full speed on a 76mb package from various providers.

You look to be on an ADSL service, which as a previous poster said is not dependent on the distance to the green cab, but the distance to the exchange.

If you're close to the cab and want a better service you'd need to order an FTTC service from your (or another) provider,

Yes i know its the distance from the exchange that is the reason for poor stats, and know fibre will be better choice living close to a street cab as i do.
I am on a offer at present from sky will started on 21st feb 2019, so not far off the 12 month end date now.

I have been on the phone to sky and they said i can get fibre for £27, thats more than double what i am paying now and for me have to keep the cost down as much as possible.
I do want fibre now and will have to search for the best deal i can find with good reviews if possible.

If i switch, when would be the best timing to avoid most costs, the present offer will end on 20 feb, but i will be paying full price 1 month before its up because its taken in advance i think.
