Old master box wiring problem

[link to this post]

Hi Desperate. Decided to mess about with the master socket which sits near my front door not realising it controls the internet! Pulled it out and now have a mass of wires with no idear what to do. I have put back in the two I know cause i could see a bit of the wire stuck in the screw still.

Please see picture attached and if anyone can solve this I will literally send money to that individual tonight. That's how desperate I am. Completely lost all internet.

Cant upload picture hear so sent link to site where I have posted also where it shows the picture Master sockey

You need to report a fault and be ready to pay the call out fee for Openreach to visit and fix this.

The incoming pair look to be connected to screw terminals but then go no further,

The more modern white cable has a couple of jelly crimps one with two wires (what you expect) and one with just one obviously not connected wire.

I do not want to guess what was connected to what screw terminal and what might be the correct wiring.

So time to get onto your telephone provider.

Also just incase that picture is deceiving. Theres one wire going into each of the crimps, it might look like 2 but it's a shadow on the wall

If that junction box is on the Openreach side of the NTE5 master socket (which one might assume it is?) then its definitely only a job for an Openreach engineer or an authorized engineer to repair!

He said Openreach, which is the company that owns the wires you have.

Openreach wires are used by lots of companies, including SKY.

Sky is who you contact, did not say this before as did not know who the telephone/broadband provider was

Photo is too poor. Please provide better photo showing colours and tell us which wire you have put back. Will be able to advise then.

Sorry you lost me. I dont know what it is apart from what I've spent 9 hours today trying to find out. The box was there when I moved In. All my broadband is set up through a filter socket on the floor, I pulled that wire as I said and lost it all.
