DLM & reboots

[link to this post]

Should I have any concerns about rebooting my VDSL2 router - Fritzbox 7530 - in terms of it's impact on DLM

My line is stable with seemingly no pinned profile, 3dB SNRm down/6dB SNRm up, fast, & with G.INP down/up. This has been the case for a while with prior G.INP off resulting in worse speeds. I sync around 66/11. I'm on zen

The fritzbox is currently on the beta stream. If I allow it to update tonight it will after 4 days, though I can easily prevent that.

Does DLM do much outside a 24 hour window?

These are typical of my error counter rates - most of the time 0 seconds with errors, but sometimes I get just one (not seen more). Plenty of correction going on, but rarely anything uncorrected

FRITZ!Box Central Exchange
Seconds With
Errors (ES) 0 1
Many Errors (SES) 0 0

Not Remediable Errors (CRC)
per Minute 0 0
Last 15 Minutes 0 0

corrected DTU
per minute 0.93 0
Last 15 minutes 10 17

whilst this is my connection info:

Min. effective data rate kbit/s 64785 11152

Your downstream connection speed of 65862 kbps is exceptional given the attenuation of 25 dB.

I'll post my stats later - 29dB attenuation and speeds around 74Mbps !

There are a few modems/hubs that present strange attenuation figures - mine was around 16dB for years with a 450m line which is about right, then a firmware update messed it up.

The OP suggests 5xx metres and 65 Mbps is about right - the attenuation is the only oddity.

Here you are: 73.5 Mbps on a 29.1dB line !

Data rate: 15.34 Mbps / 72.44 Mbps

Maximum data rate: 15340 / 73587

Noise margin: 5.8 dB / 3.3 dB

Line attenuation: 19.9 dB / 29.1 dB

Signal attenuation: 19.9 dB / 29.1 dB

New road/5 properties build 2016/17, then another 4 (including ours) 2019.
Fibre cab quite a way away - 500m seems about right
External NTE. daisy chained to first socket (nothing connected, includes surge cap I think - or something)
Up to second socket where fritzbox is plugged in with provided cables.

Interestingly neighbour only getting 45/8.5 (and they are very techie). Not sure on router, think one of the BT home hubs. But also prior owner of this property was getting similar. Of course they may have been on a 40 or 56 package. I never saw stats

My 'gut feel' is that the fritzbox is doing very well too

So can't complain. well I wish. upstream was more. A year ago I had > 1 Gbps / 50 Gbps frown Waiting for bt fttp now most likely (exchange/area does feature on current openreach lists but no date given)
