More noise in the afternoon and night - ADSL

[link to this post]

Hello,
I use ADSL internet.
The amount of line noise in the afternoon and evening is twice as much as in the morning.
Why does the line noise get louder as we get closer to night?
How do I fix the problem?

Could you post comparative stats so we can see the stats themselves as it would ensure we don't misunderstand what you mean.

However, remembering back to ADSL days noise did tend to go up at dusk and back down at dawn - this is because interference is higher at night than during the day. Take a look at this thread from 2006.

Is that noise in your phone ear, or "noise" on a graph ?

Does the noise slow down your speed? If not, then don't worry, this is how radio technologies work when the sun goes down. Same thing happens with AM radio.

Short of moving off it, not sure there is anything realistically in your power that you could do.

That’s an ASUS router, isn’t it. If its a 68U then it has a particularly weak modem chip.

You may do better with a different modem.
