List of exchanges/postcodes served?

[link to this post]

Hopefully I have posted this in the correct place..

Does anyone know the best way to obtain a list of all telephone exchanges in the UK along with the postcodes they serve? I know there are some single use lookup tools on the web (where you can type in your postcode and it gets you the exchange) however I was hoping to just have one large data extract containing this information?

Any ideas?

Appreciate your help

Hi

I’d be quite surprised if you were able to find this easily available.
It’s the type of thing most companies would need to pay for….and so would protect.

Is it for a school / uni project or is it for commercial use?

The obvious candidates would be BT Group (Openreach) and Ofcom. Ordnance Survey may have some metadata but licensing it could be £££. The former two may be able to provide academic/research information, if requested under the cover of an academic establishment / university, especially BT/Openreach as they have numerous research ties into academia.

The info does exist and is available to registered communications providers from OR on commercial terms and conditions.

This means it is not publicly available to everyone. You would have to register on the OR B2B site as an ISP (or other organisation) and agree with the terms and conditions.

Believe you now have to be a registered company to sign up with a DUNS ID.

As already stated above the information is not easily available but this list from OFCOM has 5573 exchange names and their post codes (2017)
