Had an engineer out today and within 10 mins said it wasn't the branches as the drop cable was receiving light but between that and going into the house there is a splice and that wasn't allowing light through.
Thankyou for all of yours advice.
Surely if the previous fault engineer was getting light at the CBT but not at the ONT the CSP splice would by default be the next place to check but no the previous engineer packs his tools up and blames the cable.

Absolutely shocking!!!

The protection on overhead drop fibres is more likely to chop through a spindly little thing like that rather than vice versa!
