Netomnia Infrastructure

[link to this post]

Does anybody have any insight into how Netomnia install their network?

Around my town they have started installing pavement chambers, they are scattered all over the place however each one is next to an existing openreach chamber.

Will this be to house the equivalent of an OR splitter? then maybe the existing OR ductwork will be used to reach the properties?

No exact knowledge, but it sounds from your description, that they are using PIA in part.

So have permission to use existing Openreach ducts to provide the ‘main’ network … then break out into their freshly built boxes to house their nodes. Have they dug to provide Tommy pots outside the properties ? Otherwise might be using Openreach ducts for the last part up to the premises too

They use Openreach PIA. The additional footway chambers will likely house their CBTs, which incidentally look identical to those used by Openreach.

They've stuck CBT's on the metal poles around here, whereas OR stuck theirs inside the metal poles. Other than that, they're using the BT poles and chambers in the usual OR way. They haven't finished though so there are huge loops of fibre hanging on the feeder poles waiting to be pulled into the ducts that feed the estate.

Not sure where their larger nodes are, most of the infrastructure around here is underground except for the poles that feed the houses on each street - underground to 1 pole then strung between poles to the end of the streets.

The larger nodes will be in chambers similar to Openreach aggregation nodes. The architecture and furniture is all very similar.
