Virgin National Broadband 24.5% price increase

I have been advised that from 15.10.11 my broadband package will increase by £5.00, (£20.40 now). I assume this is a Virgin Media plan to stop the National Broadband. Can I complain to anyone?

Nothing is immume from price increases...don't like the price vote with feet and move elsewhere.

Why do you think it is a plan to "stop the National Broadband"? Putting their prices up potentially gives them more money to expand/upgrade with. Also, by putting prices up it makes it easier for other providers to compete with them so potentially increases the competition in the area and therefore could increase availability.

If you want to complain then I assume you would complain to Virgin. No-one else sets the prices for them. And obviously you have the ultimate way to complain which would be to leave and move to someone else if there are others who can provide for your needs at a lower price.

Ring them up & see what they can do. Virgin media usually offer existing customers some sort of deal.

Have phoned Virgin, advised me to leave as the price increase will go through. Anyone reccomend a good provider, located near Lincoln.

Near Lincoln - not much help, people need to know the exact telephone exchange to provide location specific advice.

Also how much do you download/upload each month? The cheapest deals are available to those that live in the right place and don't use too much.

My exchange is Navenby, use 6000 - 7000 mb per month.

6 or 7 GB a month is probably light usage now. Have a look at Plusnet.

That's lsited as Market 1, so will be slightly more than market 3 pricing.

Prolly £6.49 pm for 3 months, then £10-£12 pm thereafter. That's for 10GB monthly allowance. For an extra fiver p.m. you can get Extra at 60GB.

BT have some good deals ATM and would be fine for what you need. 7GB is light usage, any ISP should be fine.

Also on a market 1 exchange prices are going to be higher with most ISPs
