By the way, that reply from them looked like you created a support ticket, which wouldn't be any better than a phone call anyway. I had suggested the in-house forum smile that TT users on this forum also recommend.

Did try...

Would not let me join for some reason...

Have emailed the site, to ask why it will not accept me?

The exchange for Chafford is in Chafford and within a very short distance to round half the population. Sadly, the other half are lucky to get more than 4mbit. BT have been busy installing their shiny new fibre cabinets, but only in the half that is closest to the exchange. (where incidentally Virgin Media are also). My side of Chafford is having no new shiny fibre cabinets, so I remain on my 2mbit.

For those interested, I've created a mapping of the postcodes where BT currently have no plans for fibre in Chafford.

A few others through concerted effort indicating that uptake would make it worthwhile have managed to get Openreach to re-assess things.

Yep, this is something I did back in 2002 when BT refused to give chafford a date for adsl. We managed to get over 500 people to register via their tracker thingy; your website and The Register ran stories about it.
Thankfully BT reconsidered.

I am tempted to do something similar again. I just need 100% confirmation than the 4 cabs in question are 100% out of their plans. I did see an OR engineer working on a cab (other side of chafford) and he seemed to think all of chafford would be enabled, I've even seen telent vans putting fibre cable in and working on cabs 10 and 11, so I am holding out with a glimmer of hope that the last 4 cabs will be upgraded once the others are all done. Time will tell.

Moggy, takes brick from wall of house, and hits his pc & head with it, as easier than dealing with TALK TALK

After 1 week waiting, telling them the problem, and the answer thanks to the great people on here.
I get:

"Hi moggy68,

Please can you complete the below broadband sticky questions.

1. What exchange are you connected to?
2. How many telephone extension sockets do you have?
3a. Do you have an NTE5 master socket?
3b. If yes to question 3a, have you tried the test socket?
3c. If yes to question 3b, how long for and did you notice an improvement in your connection?
3d. Do you have an iPlate or ADSL faceplate?
4. Is your modem/router connected to your Master Socket?
5. Are you experiencing any problems with your phone service?
6. What modem are you using? (Make & Model)?
7. Have you tested with an alternative modem? (Make & Model)
8. Have you tested with a different microfilter?
9. Are you using a telephone extension lead?
10. What is your modem SNR Margin down and up?
11. What is your bandwidth (Connection or sync speed) down and up?
12. What is your attenuation down and up?
13. Are you experiencing the disconnections at any specific time?
14. Are you currently using Wireless?
15. Do you have an Alarms and/or Sky boxes connected to the telephone line?

Thanks
Talk Talk

Why can they NOT do a simple SNR Margin Reset, like I asked them to do?
