Unable to upload files other than email txt and very snall i

Hi I recently moved from the dreaded talktalk to the lesser known Tesco... Broadband and Telephone. Subsequently I have been unable to upload any files of size...pictures etc...I have checked all the obvious stuff...had tesco provide a second router kit etc but still no joy. Speedtest shows me I am getting a miserable 4.8 Mbps download and between 0.4 and 0.8 upload. Can anyone help me get back into business (oh yes...I am a sometimes photographer or was. Any response will be more than I am getting from tesco.

So what speeds were you getting before you moved?

Can you post your router stats otherwise no-one can help.

Ex <n>ildram , been to SKY MAX - 15,225 Download
BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload ON THE LINE THAT SKY COULD ONLY PROVIDE 15,255 DOWN AND 800 UP ON!!!,
Moved house, now BE Unlimited 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!
FTTC Cab installation commenced 12th April - expect full 80 / 20 - bye bye BE, hello BT Infinity soon!

HI THERE....not sure what you ref to router stats...what do I need to do?

Look up your router here. The figures of interest are attenuation, sync or line speed or similar and signal to noise ratio or SNR or similar.
Post your router make/model here if you encounter any difficulties.

Hi, you need to post your router stats which will show your line performance with ADSL, you will find them within your router interface usually under ADSL Status.

My Orange Bright Box Router stats.
ADSL status:
Line Status --- SHOWTIME
Link Type --- Fast Path
Operation Mode G992.5 (ADSL2+)
Upstream 1231 (Kbps.)
Downstream 11019 (Kbps.)
Operation data upstream downstream
Noise Margin 5.9 dB 7.9 dB
Line Attenuation 15.9 dB 29.5 dB
Output Power 12.3 dBm 0.0 dBm

Stats will be interesting but those speeds don't sound that out of the norm for a standard ADSL/ADSL2 service on a mid length line (or even a slightly congested ISP). 4.8Mbps down is more than many see and speed up to 800Kbps up are not bad even for ADSL2.

I suspect either the noise margin has raised as part of the move or Tesco may be running at higher congestion.

Have you tried setting a lower MTU on your PC?

If the broadband connection is running over lines that do not have jumbo frames enabled you'll have trouble with normal size packets and thus with uploads and some downloads.

There is a known problem with Tesco broadband since they changed the service last month. It is being flagged as a major incident by the network support team and does affect the upload speed of many customers. Tesco is working on it but no idea when it will be fixed.
Try phoning technical support again.

My stats are:
2.87 mbps download
0.21 mbps upload

so am worse off than you! To be fair, this is the first problem I have ever had with the broadband service but they do seem to be dragging their feet a bit at resolving it. I can't even upload a 600k file so uploading anything has been impossible for me for the past few weeks.

You were asked for your router stats not speedtests.
