Virgin Media-Traffic management problems+Upload speed awfull

Greetings everyone.

First post. New to the forums and I am in need of experienced advice.

I currently have Virgin Media XL package with 30mg tv+phone+broadband deal.

I have been with Virgin for over 2 years now.

To be frank i can say they are ok . Not amazing but just ok.

I live in South London . Croydon,south of the borough CR0 postcode.

I mainly use the internet to browse and to play PC games. I download games only via Steam. Usage is not much say 20 GB a month max.

The problem I have is ,im basically tired of being put in traffic management. I noticed they are increasingly worst about it now then say 12 months ago.

Yeasterday i downloaded 2 games plus updated 2 other games. In total i must have Downloaded about 16 GB. Bang straight into traffic management. This annoyed me to the point its quite obvious when my connection speed is halved to 40% less. They say its only for an hour but i see its longer then that.

Its annoying as well the dreadfull upload speeds. I wanted to upload gameplay footage to youtube. The upload speeds just made me give up straight away.I canceled it.

Now im torn between kerping virgin media or finding a better deal.

I need help and advice.

Virgin Media support the sales and technical advice wont convince me cause im pretty much convinced they are being unfair.

Can you advise who should i sign up with?
I want good upload speeds as well as less traffic management unfair cra#.

Any sugestions forum gurus?

I assume you only have the Virgin cable phone service. Please can you take the address option of this checker and paste the results here. (Remove your address of course, but keep the cabinet number if it shows one). Don't use the pure postcode checker.

I have cable services . Sorry but my landline no is not recognized by the website you provided. Its a 0208 no previous serviced by Telewest then O2 and now virgin for the last +2 years.

I contacted VM and stated im thinking about leaving. I was asked to remain etc etc that they would offer me additional perks .

I cant seem to shake the feeling that theres a better deal out there... im basically tired of Virgin Media promises to put it simply. I am positive they arent being fair on how they manage their customers. The traffic management policy in place is excessively out of place for my case. After speaking with VM tech support i got a really stroppy and obnoxious reply telling me the amounts of data used as in if i had been a naughty boy.... I only replied thx have a good day put me back to cancelations department please...

Im sure the 60 pounds a month i pay can go to some other provider.

I just want to sign to better ISP. Its home use only but with gaming and browsing in mind.

You need to try the address option not the phone number

My recommendation for the broadband is Plusnet Unlimited Fibre and Calls.

Note that to have any other ISP than VM Cable that you have now, you will have to have a non-VM phone line installed.

Decent alternatives to PlusNet are BT Infinity, Sky, TalkTalk, Aquiss and vivaciti.

Note that if you want TV included you are probably best to go for Sky or TalkTalk, but PlusNet, BT, Sky could be best for the gaming.

Sounds good as im no longer under a Virgin contract....they of course didnt tell me i wasnt till i phoned in today...

I looked at PlusNet reviews just now. Seems alright but people having problems with customer service etc? Seems BT owns the company.

Can you confirm PlusNet been good with you and how long you been with them until now? Looks like BT owns the company.
