Sky to BT switch

Hi there,
I'm currently in the process of switching providers and was due to switch yesterday the 11th however bt attempted to take over the line twice in preparation for the switch and for some reason this was rejected and this date all fell through. Now BT have have rescheduled to switch on the 27th of this month but in the mean time sky have disconnected my phone and broadband on the date of the original switch.
I've contacted BT an they have managed to bring it forward by two days.
Does anyone have any info that can help speed up the process as living with teenage daughters and no Internet could mean this will be my last Christmas lol.

Did you follow the correct process, it sounds like you asked Sky to disconnect the line?

Correct process, Ring BT or Place order on BTs website, provide them the Sky landline number, let BT handle everything. Do not ring or speak with Sky. When BT take-over, they notify Sky and a final bill is generated.

If you ring Sky to cancel at any stage, they will close the line down entirely, meaning there is no line for BT to take-over on the move date - which is what it sounds like has happened. Am I right?

Hi I guess so, Im keeping the existing line and number so I believe

Ukhardy Yeah I did all of what you was saying and bt did inform sky of the takeover as I had mail correspondence from sky about my contract ending etc but from what I can tell bt have not informed sky they have rescheduled and as far as sky are concerned I'm with another provider now,at no point have I told sky to cancel my contract personally
