Virgin media won’t allow me to leave

[link to this post]

In June the broadband stopped working, I asked them to cancel the contract on their WhatsApp thing. The contract had expired and was running month to month at an inflated price of £45.
They offered me a new contract every time I asked to cancel.
This went on for hundreds of messages over a few days.
After a month I cancelled the direct debit.
Now they want late charges and another £45
After asking to cancel again they want £46

Moral of the story is get the cancellation confirmed fully in writing (before cancelling direct debits etc) - not rely on a WhatsApp conversation.

You’ll need to go through their complaints team. I would suggest you avoid WhatsApp. Put your complaint in writing / email.

Good luck.

Cancelling DD does not cancel the contract as you have found.

Real pain now they want to use WhatsApp for messaging.
