Virgin Media New Socket install

[link to this post]

I was reluctant to have to go back to virgin media given my previous experience with them .However, the only decent broadband speed in the street is with them. So i swallowed my pride and signed up again.

So I received a router last weekend but had no box in my new house thats currently being refurbished. I left the router on the stairs with a note explicity asking for the router socket to be installed in the loft for the appointment this morning. I have tradesmen working at the house just now. He said to my electrician, " we don't do lofts". Strange because they installed in my loft a few years back at a different house a short distance away! He made no effort to contact me and even ask about an alternative location. The tech decided where it was going??? I spent the afternoon on whatsapp and the phone about this. I was on whatsapp for ages so decided to phone on the new installs number. Having spoken to someone and repeated myself over and over again. I was finally told that someone would be out on sunday afternoon to recitfy. I then get a response on whatsapp and they had no record of the booking! The whatsapp people have booked it in for 0800-1200 hrs on Monday and have asked the technician attending to phone me in advance before arriving as I can't take time of work for something they should have done properly today. I am seriously thinking of cancelling and going with anyone else even if the speed is very poor.

If you've got 5G that probably makes a lot of sense. I've had some blistering speeds on my mobile when out and about, sadly no 5G at my home.
