Virgin Media - 4 months of failed installs - compensation

[link to this post]

Hi signed up for business package with VM, should been installed beginning of January.

After huge amount of time on the phone(multiple calls) multiple complain which they close or ignored, they have now said road works are require to unblock a duct and it that is too costly so they cancels the order.

Pointed out the 4 months to get to this point, multiple complaints. They offered a good will payment of £149+vat

Had originally asked for £700 made up of

2x50 installation fee £100
2x 3 months worth of subscription = £300
and £100 for each complain they messed up (at least 3 ) £300

If this had been downtime know how to calculate it but as this is downtime to them never installing it a bit differnt. What do people think?

Should i push for more?

Thanks Damien

How much had you ACTUALLY paid THEM ? That’s the figure you ought to ask for.

Since they have no obligation at all to offer any compensation and their T&Cs will say that any consequential loss isn't their problem, take the offer.

Ofcom details of compensation here. Virgin signed up to this. Should be £6.10 for each day of delay beyond the expected installation date. On that basis I think the offer from VM is lower than they should be paying. This is assuming the provider had provided a date that the service was going to start - if they hadn't confirmed a date due to potential works required then it could be that no compensation is due.
