How to tell

[link to this post]

Whether Virgin Media have cable/fibre or using normal copper phone line to your house?

Im currently with BE 24mb adsl connected at 14~ down / 1.3up with a BT phone line/service.

Would changing to Virgins 20mb service put me on cable and therefore give me a much higher speed and possibly lower pings aswell?

And can you just have Broadband fitted into a house with 2 Sky tv's 1 BT phone line ?
i mean do i need to change everything over or can i just have the 20mb broadband connection that is if it's cable/fibre?

Thanks

If it is the 20Mbps service then it MUST be the Virgin Cable network.

So it would connect at 20Mbps if that is the product you order, whether throughput will exceed what you get with Be is another matter with many variables. Similar with latency.

You should be able to just get the broadband, i.e. leave other stuff as it is, but check out their deals, you may make some savings if you dropped Sky Multiroom - depends on how much to get the channels you would want from VM
