Speed Increase to 25Mb - will it last?!

Hi,

My XL connection mysteriously went offline on Monday lunchtime, and after several protracted calls to the bband helpline in India, an engineer was booked for this afternoon.

Yesterday, however, the connection came back on its own, with this added bonus:

According to Speedtest, my wireless download speeds are now around 25Mb!

Looking back at previous tests in January, the best speed that I could get was 14Mb wired, and around 9Mb wireless.

Anyone else had this very welcome but completely unexplained speed increase? I'm based in South London...

The modem is an NTL 250.

What does it say in your modem? http://192.168.100.1 and then log in using "root" for the username and password and then go to "Operation Configuration" and post that page in here.

Still shows you're on 20mb only so think it may just be a speed burst or the speed tester giving inaccurate results.
