funny enough I was told mid 2009 it would be done in my area at dec 2009, I thought as usual they were talking [censored], but they were right. My area did get digital enabled end of last year.

I had the exact same problem. I saw VM people doing the work but when trying to sign up to VM they said you cant get cable. There are two things you need to do.
First get the number for the contractors that are doing the work and confirm that they have done your area.
Second fill in a form on the VM website for a site survey. I think you go to the checker then click address not listed ( even if it is).
Someone should call you back within 5 days and come around to your house to 'manually' put your order through.

Im pretty sure Slough has been upgraded.

After seeing the adverts in the papers I did two checks. One at the start of the month which said sorry only ADSL was available but now I get a 50Mbit is available.
