Getting a bundle deal

I have recently moved over to Virgin cable broadband and was wondering about moving my Sky+ and BT phone over on a bundle. I have called the normal sales line and was given the standard prices off the website over the phone. This wouldnt work out much cheaper than I currently pay, but they were not waivering on the £75.00 V+ setup.

Does anyone know any tricks for getting a deal out of Virgin? I am not desperate to move, but would always be interested in a cheaper price. My current services are:-

Virgin 10MB - £20.00
Sky+ - £23.00 (everything apart from sport & movies)
BT - £17.53 (unlimited anytime calls, 7.2pm mobile).

they wont do anything with your TV packages as they pay SKy for most of it, so just add another £5 on to what sky will charge you direct lol

telephone is £11 a month and 24/7 landline calls is an extra £8 a month or sommit

broadband is around £18 a month for 10mb

i pay £33 a month for a [censored] TV package, 10mbit connection and 24/7 calls including line rental

in the process of going back to BT as they have offered me 24/7 calls including 0870/ 0845 for £16.50 a month including line rental, that is with free install

i will prob go down the o2 broadband route as quidco do a great deal

Virgin and Sky TV are worthless IMHO. you realise you're paying to watch adverts, right? Otherwise why not have the channels ad free - you paid for them already, remember? It takes the pee to have your provider getting paid twice just to run a bit of digital signal to your house which is already being sent out anyway to the rest of the area...

Anyway, a new customer at Virgin and you get far better deals than me being a 5-year customer or so...

If you're within the cancellation period, ring them up, make sure you're put through to the Cancellations (AKA 'Retentions') department, and say that you can get a better deal with Sky plus performance isn't good enough for £20/pcm (or say whatever you like, but sound unimpressed).
If you're not within the cancellation period, well, good luck. 12month+ contracts are awful for maintaining service level, in my experience. 30 days works much better... (specifically with Virgin Media, in fact).

Note your ignoring of my question - "you realise you're paying to watch adverts, right?" Anyway, hope you got less ripped-off than you might have done, which is the best to hope for, especially for those who play into these companies' hands.
