Re: How much do you do per month?

£28? I am stil paying £51. I CHOOSE not to have the reduced pricing. Didn't Neil say " you get what you pay for!? I'd pay more if they did such a service.

You are right about Hulu. And no they don't use any form of P2P. A VPN soon gets around that IP blocking. Simples.

Yes I had a seedbox. HAD and at the time I did get stuff from it. However not a simgle KB was done over my connection so I believe there is nothing to answer on that. As for software there is not a single piece of software I own that is not registered and paid for by me. I have windows 7 ultimate. A mere snap at £179

They maybe what they are. But I have been told that no one can override their decisions. So like I said if they don't care neither do i.

Hulu uses 1.3GB/hour on its' highest bit rate. I'm not sure how exactly this equates to 160GB a day unless you're watching 5 different things at once.

Err the maximum price for 50Mbps on a bill is 45GBP/month. That is the baseline price, the system will not allow a price higher than this. If on single play and not broken a bundle it's then reduced to 38, if on triple play 28.

Not a single KB done over your connection? So how did the stuff get from the seed box to your home? Telepathy? The SCP / SFTP sessions you were downloading with traverse your connection.

No-one can override their decisions? They are customer complaints not management, they have absolutely no power within the company.

Anyway silly discussion, you must think I'm stupid if you are trying to say you pull 100GB+ of legit content or 10 dual layer DVD movies a day, I don't think so somehow. Not that I'm the copyright police but be aware that VM until not that long ago couldn't monitor certain bits of equipment on their network very well and have resolved these issues now.

Back to the topic, yes your usage is ridiculously high and I doubt many people get anywhere near your usage. It is interesting though how whenever people post on here about using multi-TB a month it's always from legitimate sources which seem to be listed Google stylie afterwards.

I personally don't care, but you asked if you take the Mickey and you clearly do, you use more in 5 hours than the average VM customer does in a month. You're 1 in 10,000 or more, feel special smile

These people need your undivided retardism it would seem. They are openly saying they would torrent the [censored] off their 200mb connection. So you need to go and preech to them.

The torrent URL's didn't get downloaded on my computer. on a seedbox you can pull a URL down directly to the server via the interface. No telepathy simply rtorrent interface. Go read up about it and then come back and argue that one.

At the end of the day it's server steaming. VM are welcome to watch what I am watching. If they truely have nothing better to do.... smile

I can't spell so I edited the post. Nothing else..

Well my latest bill was £84 this month so they might be charging me for my usage. The bill just says XXL service charges. If they are that's fine by me..Like I said I would pay higher.

You didn't really get my point. You said that your connection wasn't used, which is of course ridiculous, it is used though not for the actual Torrent, as I said you used another protocol to get the stuff from seed box to home but it still traversed your home link. You claimed it didn't bizarrely.

The bandwidth point is that you still use bandwidth to get it home, the copyright police point would be that you've no business downloading the stuff nor making a second copy on the home machine from the seed box.

VM run reports on usage, however as I said I've no idea where they pick the numbers from, they seem to come from nowhere.

I was just amused at your claims of using 160GB/day, or about 10GB/ waking hour which appears to oddly enough be scheduled largely for when you're asleep unless you're nocturnal. Rather strange for use of streaming sites which offer around the 1GB/hour mark.

They don't charge for usage If they did even at 1GBP/GB you'd be at a tad more than 84. The bill does not just say XXL service charges it will have a breakdown of TV / Phone / Broadband Internet and any other charges that might be applied.

No-one is charged 51GBP for XXL broadband as the system cannot charge that. 45 if a bundle was broken, 38 if standalone, 28 if bundled.

Ditto.

I went to 50Mb from 20Mb as I wanted the speed. I'd still be more than happy if it was STM'd - I only ever hit the STM twice on 20Mb in the year that I had it.

Take the recent Battlefield : Bad Company 2 Beta. I had it downloaded in little over 5 mins.

Yes that is good.

Well once again I rang VM and told them about my usage. They said it was fine so as far as i'm concerned until they say otherwise i'm happy. The only reason I asked is that I did a search on google and some people were saying between 2-3TB down and 500GB up.

Never mind, topic is exhausted. Move on.
