Moving House

[link to this post]

Im in the process of moving house. i called VM to tell let them know which went well until i asked about my email address, they told me as i have a blueyonder.co.uk email address i would no longer have it when i move, not being happy with this i emaild them and asked the same question which i got a reply back saying yeah i would have the same email address....

Does anyone one know if i can keep my email address as i find it a bit harsh for them to just take it away just because i am moving.

Are your account details being changed too? I expect they are because account details follow a certain pattern. The first 2 letters being your initials then 3 numbers to determine your area and then some randome letters and nuimbers.

eg. john smith from liverpool could = JS00143br3

This account number would then form the basis of your primary email account. I have suggestions though. Did you create any "alias" accounts to link with your current email? If so, try the following.

1. save your current emails and contact address book on to your pc.
2. The day before you leave, remove your alias accounts.
3. move house
4. set up your primary vm email account
5. set up your alias accounts to link to this new account.

people who had your previous email address (the alias ones) will still be able to use them, this time they will be linked to your new account. You need to be sure to remove them from your old account first.

If you need help, give VM a call betwwen 8:30am and 11am.
