Problems in North London area?

[link to this post]

Anyone else had problems last night and this morning?
Connection has been dropping intermitantly since Sunday, then last night was down more than up (got about 10 mins of online 3 times).
First Customer Service rep blamed it on my router. Cable-linked to modem and it still was down. Another 20 mins waiting for rep and admitted "there were problems" (great difficulty in understanding the accents from their Indian (?) call centre).
Told to "wait 2 hours as no technicians were available".

They really did not seem competent!!!

This morning it was briefly up, went down again (long enough to display the BT broadband home page...). Got through within 5 mins only to be told their help desk servers were down, admitted they were having "lots of calls about this" and to try again in 2 hours. Needless to say, this being the 4th or 5th time I've missed an evening's worth of service in the last year, I am going to change service provider at renewal time.

Anyone got any REAL idea of what is going on?
