I should keep very quiet if I were you smile I'd check your bills though and make sure you're not being charged for your doubling of speed in case they have upgraded the wrong person..

Hmm VM are ready to roll out new packages for broadband in the next 3-4 months, I wonder if this is a speed trial for 10mbit users to be moved to 20mbit

They've not announced an increase in their packages but we do know they run random trials without informing users so I guess it's possible.

Well - it's genuine smile I'm now on 20 meg.

I checked on the Site and found that instead of Broadband Large I was now on XL - so phoned [ wasn't looking forward to the increase in price :( ] Got a nice young gentleman , who explained that I was getting a discount and it was not for a trial period of 3 months - it was permanent smile

So as I'm running 2 phone lines , anytime calls [ on one line ] and free voicemail I'm now getting a good deal on XL - and frankly I'd be daft to turn it down

well reasons I think this wont happen.

the other tiers are over expensive to give free upgrades ie. 20 to 50 means each customer new modem. so it would just be the bottom tier getting an uprade.

10mbit remains competitive for the market the tier is aimed at, competing against lower end adsl products. FTTC priced way above the 10mbit pricepoint and adsl is a much weaker technology.
