getting VM to reactivate a disabled email account

[link to this post]

OK, firstly, I hold out absolutely no hope of this happening, but if I can't find a way, I'm going to have a 73 year old guy calling me up 300 times a day to ask how can he get his emails back, and how can he get his friends email addresses, and can I go and show him, as he is doing now!

Above elderly friend got mugged by a Sky rep who did a good job on him, and got him to sign up, and told him to put down anyone he knew who had sky as a referrer in order to get the £50 M&S vouchers.
All he saw was £50 M&S vouchers, a slightly cheaper deal than he was getting with VM, so he signed up, and as soon as he got an install date, told VM where to go.
Cutting to the chase, VM cut him off 2 days ago, Sky BB was enabled today, and lo & behold, his VM email account is no more, it shows as "disabled", and my phone starts to melt.

I have to admit, I've never known VM to close email accounts when a customer leaves, as I have several going back to the old C&W days (that migrated to ntlworld addresses) that are still going strong, despite the fact I haven't been with them for over 2 years, and have always had an on/off relationship with em.
Now, I told him to ring VM up and beg for their forgiveness for leaving them, and ask, very kindly, if they could re-enable his email account, even if just for an hour, so I could grab the important stuff & contacts, but they are insisting that this isn't possible - I think they just don't want to, as they use Google, and it's disabled, not deleted, so it should be possible.
Does anyone have any experience of this happening that can save me my sanity ?

Cheers!

Give them a call and ask for a dialup account.

This will be free and should re-activate the users mail.

Edit: Most people in sales probably don't know they can still do dialup so you may need to escalate to a manager.
