My offer from Virgin Media

[link to this post]

Hi all,

Just received a marketing call from VM. They offered me the following:

50Mb cable broadband
"M" phone line (free weekend landline calls)
Line rental included (he said)
"M" TV pack

£25 for first 6 months
£37 thereafter
12 month contract
Free installation

What you think? How does this compare with the bundle offers available now on the web site?

Is it? Maybe I've missed something.

When I run the "build your own bundle" configurator it works out at:

£27.99 a month for first 6, then
£43.74 a month thereafter.
Also, on the site it would be an 18 month contract vs the 12 month I been offered over the phone.

I think the above does not take into account the £50 credit when signing up online.

My offer from VM as an existing customer.

50mbps cable on a over subscribed service. USENET P2P FTP and HTTP downloads throttled to [censored] between 9am and 9pm and then sent " detirmental usage" letters when doing stuff overnight (also congested because everyone has been forced to do their stuff between 9pm and 9am)

£45 a month bill and a big [censored] YOU..

Good luck with it. you might have a good experience like we used to. Mainly because all this [censored] was introduced without telling us so most customers can terminate their contract due to a breach of the T and C's

Less people subscribing then and the price would rise to cover it.

The thing from the site is for M+ TV hence the extra cost, M is freeview and costs nothing so it's the same as taking XXL and phone line, 12.50 + line rental for 6 months then 25 + line rental for a further 6 months.
