Problems in the Rochdale area!

Hi

Anyone else getting crippling speed issues during 6-12pm in the Rochdale area?

During these times XBL is unplayable and speedtests only hit 4mb max normally its 2 or less. Ping tests and tracerts are notably worse but no packet loss. I've spoken to Virgin "tech" support and I've been told theres an issue with capacity in my area, which will be looked at by the network engineers on Friday and the issue should be resolved 48hours later. This sounds suspicious to me. I've also queried about traffic shaping (see WOW debacle) which I've been told isnt an issue.

When I demanded why cant they do something now I was offered an engineer a completely pointless exercise since outside the above hours the connection is fine.

Its the 10mb package and i dont download anything other than maybe 1 demo off xbox live every other week. Previous to about 2 weeks ago it was a perfect connection.

(PS I work for an ISP in tech support so I know its the connection causing issues not my setup!)

Best place to check is either the status pages on the VM site, or the community forums.
