Leaving Virgin media

I have some conflicting info regarding the penalty for terminating the Virgin media bundle service early. Obviously there will be some kind of cancellation fee but does one also have to pay the full monthly charge for the full bundle up to the normal 12 month end of contract date? I have a few months to go so, at present, it would not be sensible to terminate if this is true. Many thanks.

I posted my query concerning penalties for leaving Virgin Media early on 26th Jan but so far no has answered. Come on chaps, someone must have some interesting info' so please help me out here. Thanks. JB

Have you considered that people who have left VM are not likely to be reading the VM section of this site.

If you phone VM and ask they will tell you exactly what it will cost you.

if you don't want any heavy penalty then you might want to downgrade your package and then cancel...

Wasn't there something recently that said there was a maximum penalty for breaking your contract - £134 rings a bell....... could just be tinnitus tho.

It's £60 per service upto £180 max. I work in the retentions department at VM so I know this to be the latest information.

Docki, many thanks for that info'. I did call Virgin Media and they also said that one can give 30 days notice 30 days before the original contract ends which means that one only has to do 12 months and not the 30 day notice period after the contract ends.
