50MB upgrade today got ambit rather than superhub... better?

My father in law just had the engineer come out to install his 50MB upgrade.

He was promised a Superhub, but ws told by the engineer that they didnt have any available at the moment so could obnly upgrade his modem to a 'ambit E08c015.01'

Looking at all the superhub problems, is this a blessing in disguise?

got swapped over to the new superhub last week from the 50Mb modem and router that i had from the start when the 50Mb was released.....

no prob with it at all.....working fine...

I've got the Super Hub since I was upgraded Friday last week and I'm having a few teething problems. Download speed is fine, upload speed is poor and port forwarding, well that's hit and miss.

Personally I'd say, yeah you got the better end of the deal there. At least you can choose your own router

he got lucky in my view, the superhub is problematic which is been generous.

thats what i was thinking. he was on the phone to them complaining that he didnt get givem a superhub, when i heard i said 'no wait!'

When he was telling them that he had heard that the superhub had problems, the VM person on the phone said, dont worry, we will exchange any faulty equipment until you are satisfied the problem is sorted...yeah right!

I've just been on the phone to Virgin, threatening to cancel seemed to work, they're sending out a separate modem and D-Link router.

Now don't get me wrong, some people seem to be okay with the Super Hub, but my experience has been awful with it and I wasn't prepared to wait in hope until May to get it sorted. Luckily am still in my 14 day cooling off period.
