I have a relatively complex home network.
From Master socket to a Thompson TG784 wireless router.
One Thompson port goes to an 8 port unmanaged switch; other Thompson ports not used.
Switch port 1 to local PC.
Switch port 2 to another room into 4 port unmanaged switch and thence to two or three other PCs.
Switch port 3 to to another building i.e. long run to a PC.
Switch port 4 to lower floor into a Netgear WAP.
Switch port 5, and latest addition, to D-link Power Line unit to provide internet to Sony TV on other side of house.
Having the Thompson and WAP means that laptop, netbook and two mobile phones have good wifi anywhere in house.
I assume that if I go to Virgin Cable the Thompson will be replaced by a Virgin unit giving wifi and one port to feed the 8 port switch without any problems?
