No upload speed

I'm on 20 meg cable. recently we've had some issues on websites using upload eg photobox, although I've been playing xbox live no hassle. Today certain things were unworkable. TBB speed check just gets snagged as upload so slow. Speedtest.net is giving me 16.5 DL and 0.1 or 0.05 UL (when usually it's 18.5 and 1.9 respectively.

I'm in the southampton area. Any advice?

try a speed test @ the above site and see how you get on...

but yea there does sound like there could be an issue.... is your area getting upgraded for the higher upstream and 100Mb.?

This could account for some problems I had earlier today

Take your next speed tests in this way

First - using TBB tester as normal on the port 8095 version [ the normal one ] allow it to finish and not how long it took and where it stalled [ you have already observed the problem on the uploads] .

Immediately afterwards repeat the TBB test BUT this time please tick the port 80 option - again allow to complete noting how long it has taken .

If the port 80 test is more what you would expect - please post again in Talk To The Staff and on either of the two above threads .

I'm now away to get my own speed tests done

This is what I got just now. The connection has become worse in the last few days with complete lack of service most of the time (that's why it's taken me this long to reply). Port 80 didn't work at all. I'm surprised by this mornings results as I had nothing last night for hours.

I called virgin, apparently there is a local area issue and they are going to sort it out. Oh but don't expect it to be sorted until 18th August. How can it take so long to sort this out?
