50Mb - 100Mb upgrade - what's involved ?

Wondering if the Virgin engineer needs access to the box at the end of the 50Mb install or does he simply change the modem out for the new one and test ?

I'm asking because that box is currently obscured - I can access the coax coming into the modem, but not then end going into the box

The tech guy will swap the modem to superhub, phone other side end to activated 100 meg and check power level and test the speed test (vm pilot) and that's it. He doesn't need go to the green box unless if you are with 50 Meg already.

I think poster is talking about the virgin connector in their property, and assuming the lead is OK they should just reuse what you have.

Exactly, I'm talking about the box they fit inside the property from which a lengthy coax cable connects to their modem. My assumption is that they simply replace that modem. Thanks

They send you the Superhub by courier and you install it yourself. After that you phone up the BB customer service number that is in the pack and they activate it, this takes about 20 mins or so and thats it. No engineer comes out at all unless you have difficulty.

Thanks, although for some reason an engineer is coming out to perform the upgrade.
