So were reducing the downstream speed reduction on 30Mb and above from 75% to 50% and introducing STM on 50Mb and 100Mb. We'll be publishing the full information on this on Monday at http://www.virginmedia.com/traffic/.

It's not that bad, is it? Looks like on the top package you can download 10 GB in the evening and then you get throttled back to 50 Mb/s. So the same as we had before the speed upgrade. Even throttled it's faster than the truly unlimited Sky fibre package.

Only if your area isn't oversubscribed and those limits go nowhere towards ensuring it won't be.

We don't even know if sky are planning 80/20 or not, sky can be open about some things and tight about others, for all we know they might spring 80 on us within a month of launch

My area isn't over subscribed and it worked fine until 10am this morning and now it's totally stuck even after the 9PM end of period!

In that case it suggests a fault so call it in.

Perhaps it's not working properly? Or it's in the middle of being rolled out or something so there might be gaps?

I installed a few games from my steam library this morning (about 18 gigs total) thinking what the hey, after 10GB, finishing off at 15mbps is fast enough, and I was never throttled. I just kept on going at 30mbit/s even though I definitely went well over the limit.

Not a complaint, mind you smile
