So we�re reducing the downstream speed reduction on 30Mb and above from 75% to 50% and introducing STM on 50Mb and 100Mb. We'll be publishing the full information on this on Monday at http://www.virginmedia.com/traffic/.
It's not that bad, is it? Looks like on the top package you can download 10 GB in the evening and then you get throttled back to 50 Mb/s. So the same as we had before the speed upgrade. Even throttled it's faster than the truly unlimited Sky fibre package.

We don't even know if sky are planning 80/20 or not, sky can be open about some things and tight about others, for all we know they might spring 80 on us within a month of launch

Perhaps it's not working properly? Or it's in the middle of being rolled out or something so there might be gaps?
I installed a few games from my steam library this morning (about 18 gigs total) thinking what the hey, after 10GB, finishing off at 15mbps is fast enough, and I was never throttled. I just kept on going at 30mbit/s even though I definitely went well over the limit.
