Speed upgrade - upload, but not download - so far

From the amount of disruption to VM cable customers in my area at present, it seems that the promised speed upgrades are taking place. After I had some line disconnections this morning, I discover that my 10 Mbps / 0.5 Mbps line seems to have gone to 10 Mbps / 1 Mbps (all less about 5%, as is normal).

I'm just slightly surprised that the upgrade apparently hasn't affected the download speed as well as the upload speed, at the same time. Any similar experiences?

1Mbps is the normal upload speed for the 10Mbps service. All you got was the upload speed upgrade that was promised in 2010.

You'll have to wait for two further rounds of network upgrades before double speed happens, at which point you will be moved onto 20/2
