Is there anything I can do that would change my IP address?

I am on the standard 60 MB package. I do not have a static IP address, but the address never changes as far as I can tell.

Is there anything that I can do to force a change?

Since you now have two threads running on this topic , how about deleting one ?

Your IP address will change if you are offline for a while - I normally find that being away on holiday changes it

If you're using the Super Hub as your router then there's nothing you can do other than leave the thing switched off for a few days as goldenoldie suggests. It's also probably not something VM will be able to do for you over the phone.

If you're using the Super Hub in modem only mode with your own router, then changing the MAC address of the router's WAN interface, if it allows you to do that, and restarting the Super Hub will get you a new IP address.

Thanks both! I understand the situation.
I can't leave the connection off for a week, so I think I'll get a router and try the solution with modem mode.

Would you be able to recommend a cheap router that can do the job, has ethernet ports (min 3) but not necessarily wireless. Something that's widely available in the UK at something like PC World, Maplin or Currys.

Super grateful for advice to avoid buying something inappropriate or spending more money than necessary.

Any cable router would do the trick. TP-Link probably offer the best value kit right now.

If you want to avoid spending more than you need to then give PC World/Currys and Maplin a miss as you'll be able to get a better price on anything they sell elsewhere online.

That's an ADSL router and probably won't do the job.
Look for a "cable" router.

In short, no.
An ADSL router will expect to be connected to the phone line and the WAN side is via the internal ADSL modem.
A cable router will expect the WAN to be via an ethernet port, connected to a cable modem (or an FTTC modem or some other modem).
Some routers can be configured to work differently from the factory defaults, e.g. use one of the ethernet ports as WAN port ignoring the built-in ADSL modem, but why go through the effort? Plus I doubt the TP-Link ones are so configurable.

I know it's a super budget version, but I don't actually need it. I just wantto reset the IP and £50 -£80 like the mid range ones cost is just silly for that...
