I had thought that road works in Canterbury were BT getting ready to connect some missed cabinets. But I was surprised to be told that the road works were on behalf of Virgin Media. So it seems that an area (Wincheap Industrial Estate) is being connected up to Virgin Media, perhaps because BT doesn't provide FTTC there.
I guess this will mean that Virgin Media will compete with BT there for leased line customers as there are no residential properties in the business estate. Or could this be the start of building out a Virgin Media cable network in Canterbury. Anyone got any ideas what they are doing?
PS for those that don't know Canterbury currently has no Virgin Media cable.
