Still a big blow to upload thought. I wish upload reduced to 10 not 4.3

Nice to see they've done this on all their product tiers. Lowest I go to now is 50 from 60

Upload still dire

[re: adslmax] [link to this post]

I agree. Upload is crippling for me. I'm on the XL60 product which is 3 upload and that drops to 1.1

Cable broadband upload 1.1 is bad really because BT copper on ADSL2+ can get 1.2 upload and also BT FTTC get 20.0 upload

Virgin Media is too fussy doesn't want upload as their top priority for you tubes, fb other to uploads.

Come on Virgin Media get rid of silly STM on upload.

Just waiting to get a petty upgrade to 6mb upload now. It's been promised for so long!

This is back to that issue where the 'penalty' data rate is exactly what is on the webpage, with no extra to take care of overheads, so the actual performance people see for real world usage ends up somewhat lower.

Ah thanks for the info

Welcome. The 120Mb is capped at 133Mb normally, however when the reduction of 10% comes in it's 10% of 120Mb, not 133Mb.

A big blow?

maybe

had my folks on virgins 100 Service soon as peak times came max speed was like 22Mbps congestion is terrible on VMs network in my experience.

I'm just about to be upgraded to the 120 service from 60 (and cheaper than I'm currently paying. Huzzah!) simply because the upload rate is so terrible.

My daughter has started streaming her gameplaying on TwitchTV and it takes little time for VM throttling to kick in and reduce it to jitter and lag. I was about to leave for BT Infinity 2 but thankfully the second VM advisor I spoke to (first one was a snotty madam who gave me incorrect information) offered me the upgrade and reduction in payments.

It's a shame they don't have the same throttling ratio for uploads as downloads. 63 percent off is a hell of a lot.

If uploading is important get BT INFINITY2
virgin traffic management is a joke.
I would expect bt to be 3 to 4 times faster

True. FTTC is lots better than Virgin Media on the upload and no traffic management but if BT to bring out 120/20 then virgin media will going to lose around 80% customers!

Given less than 10% of VM's customers take 120Mb right now that doesn't seem likely.

Is it mentioned anywhere that hitting the 2 hour threshold will also double your ping times ??

Seems to be the case here.
