VPN connection

Today I find that I am unable to establish a VPN connection to the office using virginmedia cable domestic service. Previously not a problem.

Nip next door and use a TalkTalk service and absolutely no problems at all with an immediate connection.

So any known issues with VM that creates this issue and if not, suggestions for a solution please?

Most likely the superhub, some routers have VPN helpers (ALG) in the NAT/firewall section. So a case of toggling those settings to find the right combination.

Dead right. A really helpful lady at VM knew exactly what the issue was and sorted the problem by giving guidance on the settings to change. Success. Case closed.

Glad someone at the VM call centre was able to help.

My mother had these issues for weeks and after a few calls to Virgin it was established she'd need a business connection. Luckily she gave up and called me, simple change in the firewall settings.

Sadly none of this information is publicised on their website!

So what are the changes needed to get this working?
