You can have it today even if it says your free upgrade is later in the year. Do a check on your postcode using an address of someone who is not with VM. You will more than likely find that the upgrade is available now, but only to new customers. Ring CS and point out that you would like the upgrade as a long-standing customer. Argue the point as necessary. You will get upgraded. You will get re-contracted, but may also get a discount.

Customer Services tell me they will increase the upstream to at least 15Mb later.

You are right. Next door can get it as a new customer. I will telephone tomorrow and persist.

Might be worth a try today, although you may get Bangalore!

edit: If you don't like people telling it like it is then stop boasting about the speed you get and the amount you download as you did the same on adsl with another ISP and must have ruined other user's experience of their internet use!
