VM Fibre Install - Installation Concern.. Conrete wall

[link to this post]

I have a install date for VM set.

The router position is under the stairs and the floors have not been carpeted so the engineer should be able to easily get a cable to where I want indoors.

Outside there is a small concrete wall:

I highlighted the mains water outlet. Would it be a fair guess that they would run it to there?

From there I am hoping they can run the cable along the main water feed to the entrance where I could pull it through.

..otherwise what can they do?

I was hoping as the water pipe goes directly into the house they could use that opening to run the cable.

Unlikely, usually when they cable up a street there will be a small plastic tube outside each property. In your picture I would expect it under all that rubbish

The box will be terminated on the outside of the house. If you run conduit from the outside of the building to under the stairs and put in a draw string they will put it through otherwise they won't touch it.

Please don't use the words "draw string"; "draw rope" at least!

Hahaha, thanks for the advice, how long was/is the rubbish there, amazing how much you've read into the situation, surprised you didn't provide links to some more relevant legislation, you foget what might happen if a little rabbit got stuck in there I could get in to trouble for that.

...anyways. The VM guy came and found a duct that he used into the front garden, then tacked under the window and we pulled the cable through.

I asked about using my own cable and he said the stuff they used is around £600 a drum so they always prefer to use it.

Lovely 100mb.

Cheers for the replies people.
