looking to move away from Sky (formerly Be) to Virgin

[link to this post]

Hi guys
Its been a LONG time since i posted on here
Am currently in the process of looking to move to Virgin from Sky after the force migration from Be

Slow downloads excruciating upload speeds and shady billing add on's have forced my hand

I generally use the uploads for uploading photos to the various places i sell from so upload speeds are critical but do not need to be excessive i got by on Be with 2.4mb/s on Annex M which sky do not do.

I see Virgin have dropped off their policies of throttling on downloads but still on uploads
has anyone experienced specific problems with this?

I am not going to be seeding torrents etc just fine art photo and video uploads so max upload at a time is around 300mb

Likely the 100mb package with virgin
cheers
John

Hi
My area is as it says in my profile Lanarkshire

Am just no looking to get stiffed by Virgin after this very bad experience with Sky

Be were a bit ropy when i joined them back in 2006 but matured well unfortunately all good thinks get ripped away from you

So back to the crowd anyone got any thoughts on Virgin in the Lanarkshire area?
6mb upload i could easily see myself living with providing its not throttled as soon as i upload a few photos...

i suppose half of 6mb is still 3mb smile
thats fast enough
will get it ordered up and sky cancelled down
thankfully there is no contractual problem with sky to worry about they say they can cancel down within a couple of weeks. Apparently it take that long to get the engineer there.
I suppose cutting off my BT line would speed that up a tad..

with their contracts 18 months is a contract buy out so lets keep the fingers crossed
Just a shame Telefonica was asset stripping their holdings to stay afloat led to this sorry state of affairs

Looking about recently it appears Sky have lost a lot of the Be subs due to dissatisfaction

Agreed, the O2 Wholesale network will be dearly missed.....

ADSL's only hope. (For residential customers anyway)

So many people who I got setup with be and O2 for gaming and annex m are very [censored] now.
