INSTALLING NEW CABLE SERVICE IN APARTMENT BLOCK

I live in a block of flats in a Virgin Cable area. There is a large street cabinet directly outside the premises.

This cabinet has been recently upgraded by Virgin Media.

But Virgin will not enter or even discuss supplying a service into the flats.

Is there any way to progress this further?

The reason for pursuing this is that the flats all suffer poor ADSL, due to a long line.... and no chance of fibre due to exchange only lines.

Absolutely certain. I remember the original cable company installing it, before VM.

It was recently demolished in a car smash, VM replaced it.

It has Fibre and Co-ax cables.

Most the tower blocks around me in south Birmingham used to have cable in them in the old days of "Birmingham Cable" but seems that Telewest let them run down and never kept them up to date and around the time Virgin took over they started stopping new installs and phasing out customers with issues.

I have a friend who still has his connection going in his 6th floor flat and he said its perfect though he's not aloud to have anything more than a TiVo and Superhub they cant put any more Cable Boxes on his connection as the signals will plummet and nothing will work.

He keeps it maintained himself too make sure the cable don't get vandalized by the local scum bags.

He currently has Broadband 152 and TV XL with Tivo.

Has been occupied by several different cable Co's

Current incumbent is of course VM.

I hope they are able to maintain their network in better condition than the building.

i live on the 4th floor which is the top of flats and VM was installed when i came here.

The only reason i think VM are saying no is that they may not have a team with the right equipment for high installations as i have been told that VM have special teams for that and one may not be in your area or the Landlord\Council\Housing Association have told them no in the past.

The other reason may be that VM isnt installed on your side of the road and they wont run another cable down the opposite side for just one user.

There's one of them in Crawley for the TV , bigger dishes though
