I have an Asus RT-AC87u and a Superhub3.
I have managed to get CTF enabled on the Asus, but not FA. My maximum throughput over LAN is ~85mbit.
If I connect directly to the SH3 in router mode, I get ~200mbit.
Even if I put the Asus router into AP mode, I still only get ~80mbit throughput if I am plugged into the Asus, but ~200 or so connected to the SH3.
Do I just need to bin the Asus? Is there a better router out there?!

Something silly going on, I've see an 87U handle WAN to LAN of over 150mbps. I own a 68U on FTTC so can't test for you easily.
My mate has an old RT-N66U and gets 99mbps connected to a SuperHub, either a 2 or 3, but he is running Tomato software on the 66U.

What firmware and what settings ?
if you have QOS enabled turn that off and try again.

Asus WRT-Merlin 380.59, so latest merlin firmware.
QoS etc turned off.
I even tried a factory reset on the thing, and no improvement.
It's not even NAT performance (WAN-LAN) as even just using it as an AP, and connecting via ethernet (so effectively treating it as a gigabit switch) it's limited to 80mbit or so.

Is the LAN cable 100Mbps or 1Gbps? you need all four pairs used for gigabit whereas some "free" cables only have two pairs in them to save on money.
Just check the Ethernet cables.
Some Ethernet cables are economy cables, less copper, less price.

I went back to 380.58 on my AC3200 . Version 380.59 hasn't been good for a few people.

Still on 378.56_2 here, haven't had a chance to update, so thanks for the tip about .59.

Make sure you check the changelogs and threads at the SNB forums before you upgrade anything.
Asus have changed their authentication system to comply with the new FCC rules on WiFi.
Flashing any new Asus firmware , or Merlin .360 onwards means you can't change back.
(apparently the new code isn't great as people have used the Asus recovery tools to downgrade , but I think that will be patched before long.)

Ok, thanks!

This is a cable I made up myself, Windows reports the link speed as 1000mbps and I've used the same cable to connect to the SH3 anyway!
Wait... perhaps I should check the Asus -> SH3 cable...
