For years I have continued to use an old line-one email address using virgins smtp server for outgoing mail (I use Thunderbird as a client) with no problems. Until this week when I find that some, not all mail is bouncing back. Oddly it is mail sent to Virgin-media addresses that bounce. Mail sent to other addresses get through. If I send one mail to multiple addresses then all get through except those going to a virgin address.
I also still use and old O2 address also using virgins server for outgoing mail and it isn't affected.
If I change the outgoing server to smtp.lineone.net it all gets through - which surprised me since I have not had an active account with Lineone / Tiscali / Talk-talk for years
